PRESIDENCY OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE SECRETARIAT OF DEFENCE INDUSTRIES CLARIFICATION TEXT ON THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
This text has been prepared by the Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB) in its capacity as the data controller, to fulfill the clarification obligation regarding the processing of personal data of individuals (Applicant) who apply as business idea and enterprise plan owners to the Quantum Algorithm Competition ("Program") carried out by SSB. This is in accordance with the "Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles to be Complied with in Fulfilling the Clarification Obligation" under Article 10 of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) No. 6698.
The Data Controller is SSB, and your personal data collected during the Program will be processed by STM. The Data Controller and Data Processor information is as follows:

3. PROCESSED PERSONAL DATA, PURPOSE OF PROCESSING, AND LEGAL REASON
The following personal data belonging to the Applicant is processed:

Data Regarding Education, Business, and Professional Life: Work history, workplace name, job title, attended school, professional competencies

Contact Information: Workplace address, e-mail address, landline phone number, personal mobile phone number

Identity Information: Name, Surname, T.R. Identity Number, place of birth, date of birth, identity serial number, and information on the identity card and passport such as a photograph

Data Regarding Campus Security: Entry and exit records to SSB facilities and visual data recordings captured at SSB workplace locations

Data Regarding the Application Form: Audio and video recordings submitted during the application
During the application and, in the event the application is accepted by SSB, during post-application processes, the personal data of the Applicant may be processed limited to the following purposes and legal reasons:

Evaluating the suitability of your application to the Program, executing and concluding the application processes within the framework of SSB internal regulations, and contacting you in this context.

Creating entry-exit cards to be used for entries and exits to SSB facilities, as data processing is mandatory for the establishment, exercise, or protection of the right to security within the framework of Article 5/2(e) of the Law.

Making video recordings at workplace locations to ensure workplace security, as data processing is mandatory for the legitimate interests of SSB within the framework of Article 5/2(f) of the Law.

Taking photographs and making video recordings at meetings, events, organizations, training sessions, and invitations held at SSB, and sharing them on SSB's corporate social media accounts and official website, as data processing is mandatory for the legitimate interests of SSB within the framework of Article 5/2(f) of the Law.

Procuring services from third-party providers for planning organizations such as meetings, travel, and accommodation, and making necessary reservations, as data processing is mandatory for the legitimate interests of SSB within the framework of Article 5/2(f) of the Law.

Procuring services from third-party providers for organizing vehicle rental and transfer processes, as data processing is mandatory for the legitimate interests of SSB within the framework of Article 5/2(f) of the Law.

Sending gifts and organizing meals, as data processing is mandatory for the legitimate interests of SSB within the framework of Article 5/2(f) of the Law.

Carrying out internship/vocational training/scholarship/training program activities by processing Applicant data, as data processing is mandatory for the legitimate interests of SSB within the framework of Article 5/2(c) of the Law.

Establishing and managing the information technologies infrastructure, planning or executing business continuity activities, planning or executing corporate communication activities, event management, executing procurement activities, and planning or executing corporate sustainability activities to carry out SSB's operations and related business processes.

Fulfilling the obligations of retention, informing, reporting, and other obligations defined by relevant legislation.

Processing personal data to carry out necessary operations and business processes for individuals who will benefit from the services and support provided by SSB.
The personal data in question may be transferred to judicial authorities or relevant law enforcement forces to resolve legal disputes or upon request in accordance with the relevant legislation. Furthermore, data regarding the Applicants, including name, surname, workplace and title, phone number, and e-mail information, may be transferred to contracting parties to perform contractual provisions.
4. PURPOSE OF TRANSFERRING PERSONAL DATA AND RECIPIENT GROUPS
In accordance with the provisions of Article 8/2 of the Law, and for the purposes stated in the Law and under section 2 of this Clarification Text, your personal data may be shared by SSB with: relevant companies/institutions/organizations within the scope of the competition, other domestic official institutions and organizations, affiliated third-party real and legal persons, press and broadcasting organizations, service provider companies and their officials, subsidiaries and affiliates, suppliers, and followers of SSB's corporate social media accounts.
5. METHOD OF COLLECTING PERSONAL DATA
Your personal data is collected and retained by SSB verbally and in writing, based on various legal or commercial reasons. This is done through different communication channels, in physical (automatic or non-automatic methods via verbal or written forms) or electronic (website contact forms, application forms, membership forms, cookies, e-mail transmission, or call center channels) environments. The collection aims to provide you with benefits, fulfill SSB's internal requirements, and/or sustain and develop activities or fulfill obligations arising from legislation.
6. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER KVKK
Regarding your personal data processed by us, you can submit your requests within the scope of Article 11 of the KVKK at any time. Applications must be made in writing in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, or by using a registered electronic mail (KEP) address, secure electronic signature, mobile signature, or the electronic mail address you have previously notified to us and registered in our system, to the following addresses:
