About the Quantum Algorithm Challenge

Under the leadership of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and within the scope of Quantum Technologies, the 'SSB Quantum Algorithm Challenge' is organized in the field of quantum computing, in collaboration with Türkiye’s leading civilian institutions, defense industry organizations, universities, technoparks, and national/international quantum computing service providers.

The challenge aims to increase interest and awareness in quantum technologies, strengthen knowledge sharing and collaboration among institutions, develop qualified human resources, and contribute to the sustainable growth of our country's quantum technologies ecosystem.

24 June 2026

Promotion

The challenge will be announced to the public with a promotional event to be held at the SSB Nuri Demirağ Conference Hall.

24 July 2026

Application

Competitor candidate profiles and teams will be created between June 24, 2026, and July 24, 2026, via the official website of the challenge (https://kuantum.ssb.gov.tr/en/challenge).

August 2026

Preliminary Selection

The pre-selection process will be conducted through methods such as an online exam, online solution development, and team presentations. Depending on the evaluation of the organizing committee, the process may consist of one or multiple stages.

September 2026

Final Challenge (Hackathon)

The final challenge will be held face-to-face over two days at Teknopark Istanbul.

October 2026

Announcement of Challenge Results

The Challenge results will be announced by the Presidency of Defense Industries on the official website of the Quantum Algorithm Challenge (https://kuantum.ssb.gov.tr/yarisma).

All Questions

Yes, candidates are not required to have a pre-formed team during the registration stage. However, since participation in the competition must be as a team, you will need to form a team of at least 3 and at most 6 members in the later stages.

No. However, the team leader is required to be a Turkish citizen. Furthermore, at least half of the total team members must be Turkish citizens.

Competitors must be citizens of NATO member states. Citizens of countries outside this scope are not eligible to participate.

Yes. The procedure for training on the technical infrastructure, simulation tools, and cloud platforms to be used will be determined and announced by the organizing committee.
