According to The Quantum Insider, Microsoft introduced its Majorana 2 topological processor at Build. The company's blog states that average qubit lifetime rose from 1-12 milliseconds in the aluminum-based Majorana 1 stack to more than 20 seconds with a lead-based material stack, while the topological gap roughly doubled.
Microsoft updated its scalable quantum computer target to 2029. These are company statements; topological qubit claims remain subject to scientific scrutiny after earlier Majorana 1 debates.
