According to IBM, the company plans to invest more than 10 billion dollars in quantum computing over the next five years. The investment supports its roadmap toward IBM Quantum Starling, described by the company as the world's first large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computer and targeted for 2029.
The announcement references CEO Arvind Krishna and a partner network of more than 340 organizations. Milestones such as quantum advantage by the end of 2026 and fault tolerance in 2029 are IBM's own targets.
