According to The Quantum Insider, Harvard Quantum Initiative co-director Mikhail Lukin said fault-tolerant quantum computers could arrive toward the end of the decade, about 5 to 10 years earlier than previous expectations.
Lukin also noted that QuEra shipped its second commercial machine to Japan's AIST. These statements are forward-looking views rather than firm schedule commitments, but they reflect growing optimism about the field's momentum.
