DARPA reopened participation in its Quantum Benchmarking Initiative with a new Stage A QBIT call. Since mid-2024, the agency has assessed 20 companies; 11 advanced to Stage B and two to Stage C.
Abstracts are due on 31 July 2026 and full proposals on 30 September 2026. The program's 2033 utility-scale quantum feasibility target is a stated objective, not a proven result.
